So what’s the problem with plastic – and how can we solve it? We think Becky Irish may have the answer.

In this episode of the Conversations on Climate podcast, host Chris Caldwell sits down with Becky Irish, former Managing Director of Ocean Company and former Chief of Staff of Ocean Bottle.

They discuss the urgent issue of ocean plastic pollution and how Ocean Bottle is working to tackle it by building collection centers in areas where most plastic waste enters the ocean.

Becky also shares the company’s goal of collecting 7 billion plastic bottles by 2025 and their unique business model that connects the sale of their reusable water bottles to the funding of ocean plastic cleanup efforts.

The conversation also touches on the importance of changing cultural norms around single-use plastic and the role that businesses and individuals can play in creating a more sustainable future.
